The "Bramley Lakes experience..."

Directions

Below is a map which will provide you with the directions needed. There are also directions for the back route between the A11 and Bramley Lakes, which is usually quicker than taking the ring roads through town. If you require any additional information please contact us directly.

Clothing Requirements

At each of our purpose built locations some of the programmes will involve a number of different tasks, including height, water, confinement or risk. To ensure that our clients enjoy the experience we provide a clothing suggestion list that covers each option. For those people that are coming on a residential programme we provide an additional suggestion list. Please see the respective Clothing List below.

Pre-existing Medical Conditions

If your group have any pre-existing medical conditions that might inhibit your participation please let us know (email nicola@bramleylakes.com). We will always encourage people to fully participate, even if that means challenging the team to identify a different role within the exercise. We operate a "challenge by choice" philosophy, please read below.

Dietary Requirements

If any of your group are vegan, vegetarian or have food allergies we need a minimum of 10 working days notice to accommodate them. Please email nicola@bramleylakes.com.

Challenge by Choice (CbC)

CbC is simple in principle, but complex in practice and reality. The simple principle is that you are invited to participate voluntarily in each of the various activities and challenges of a programme. A participant may choose to sit out an activity and this right is to be respected by others in the group and by the instructors.

The CbC principle is generally explained and understood as part of the Full Value Contract (FVC), to help create a group culture which genuinely respects the right of an individual to choose with regard to a degree of participation in any activity. CbC can be used to help reinforce the message that an individual is to exert and take personal responsibility choosing his/her behaviours and actions. Further, the principle recognises that individuals potentially stand to learn and grow more by refusing to participate on occasions than unthinkingly and/or resentfully always participating.
